Frequently Asked Questions
Should I bring my Pet’s food?
Please bring only the amount of food you think your pet will need. It should be in an air tight container, labeled with your pet's
name. We do not have room to store large paper bags of dog food.
Can I bring my dog's bed and toys?
You may bring un-stuffed bedding if it is machine washable.
Foam or stuffed pillows or beds of any kind are NOT
accepted. Toys are ok as long as they are washable & large enough to not
be washed down the drains. We are not responsible for lost or destroyed toys and bedding.
What if my dog requires medication? Medications that can be mixed in with food or that your
dog will willingly eat will be administered at no additional
charge. All other medication including eye drops & ear treatments will
incur an additional charge of $1.00 per dose. Label all medications clearly. Include the name of the medication.
How do I find out what vaccinations my Pet has had?
You may bring a copy with you or we will make a copy for you.
Required Shots: DHPP and
Rabies.
Bordetella is strongly recommended, however, the kennel is
not responsible for kennel cough since the vaccine only covers 3
of the known 24 strains of bordetella. Read about the new vaccine protocols and discuss it with your vet prior to your visit.
What if my Pet does not have all vaccinations required?
For the protection of all borders, we do not allow
any pet to stay at SKYVIEW if vaccinations are not current.
We do honor the new
vaccine recommendation: every 3 years. There are no exceptions to the vaccine policy.
What if I arrive outside
posted hours for check-in or out?
Inadequate "down time" can cause a variety of problems
for our guests including nervousness, destructive behavior, poor appetite,
diarrhea, excessive shedding, etc.
Rest times are a crucial
part of maintaining a low stress atmosphere. Since we are an owner operated 7-day a week operation, it allows
us time for relaxation as well.
We appreciate your observance of our office policy.
For your convenience, we are open for pick up and drop during the
following hours:
Weekdays (except Wed.): Wednesdays:
Saturdays: Sundays: Tours are always available during these hours as well.
Are you open on Holidays?
There is a $2.00 a day rate increase over all major holidays with
a minimum 3 day stay. The kennel office is CLOSED on some major holidays, however we still provide 24 hour care during those
days. The rate increase applies to the day of the actual holiday, the
day before and the day after. Major holidays include Easter, Spring
and Fall Break, memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving,
Christmas and New Years. The following 8 days the office is CLOSED:
How often will my dog get to go outside?
If you are concerned that your dog won't eliminate in his outdoor run, please discuss it with us during check in.
Are the kennels under cover or outside?
The kennel is insulated, heated and air-conditioned. Each kennel has a private attached outdoor run which is securely locked, and nicely shaded.
My dog has never boarded before ...or has had a bad boarding experience before?
Our Show Dogs living here at Skyview Kennel are happy and content.
This offers your pet a good environment to come into. Rest assured if your dog requires it, we will give him lots of
reassurance and extra hugs! Consider bringing your dog in to board just for the day prior
to his longer stay. Leave your pet in a happy, calm and confident manner.
Other helpful tips:
All pets are checked for parasites upon entering the kennel.
If parasites are found, your pet will be bathed and dipped and the
charge added to the boarding bill. If the pet is extremely matted or dirty, it will be groomed
and the charge added to the boarding bill.
